Working with Ecuador
We believe the UK has an important role to help build a better world, where people are able to enjoy a dignified life without compromising future generations. In Ecuador, we contribute to this goal in a small way by supporting initiatives in areas such as climate change and the environment, and by promoting democratic values and economic wellbeing .
Our work is closely aligned with the four Foreign and Commonwealth Office's policy goals:
1. Countering terrorism, weapons proliferation and their causes
2. Promoting a low carbon, high growth, global economy
3. Preventing and resolving conflict
4. Developing effective international institutions, above all the UN and EU
In the context of the above, we work with partners on a relatively broad co-operation programme which includes projects, official visits to the United Kingdom and Ecuador, and scholarships for future leaders to undertake postgraduate studies in British universities.
Another important aspect of our work is to support the international priorities of other UK Government Ministries, such as SOCA’s efforts to tackle drug trafficking and organized crime and DEFRA’s Darwin Initiative.
