When things go wrong

Emergency Contact Details

In the case of a real emergency involving a British citizen outside normal working hours, please contact the Duty Officer on: +593 (0)92 029 944

One of our most important areas of work is to provide help to British nationals in Ecuador. For a more general explanation of what help the British government aims to provide, we recommend you read the booklet on Support for British Nationals Abroad.

Under this heading, we explain the help which we aim to provide to British nationals who are in difficulty in Ecuador. Local factors such as security, the law, transport, medical facilities and relations with the local authorities may all affect the help which we can provide, as may the circumstances of each individual case and our resources.

We have written a document that explains the consular services in Ecuador.  It also sets out what we can and cannot do for you if things go wrong (see Guide to Consular Services).  You can also access this information from the menu to the left under "Help for British Nationals".
